The Wooden Spoon has been working as a charity in Cornwall for in excess of fifteen years now, and the committee including The Falmouth Hotels very own sales manager, Tiffany Bailey, are heavily committed to helping to raise money for local children facing hardship though a range of projects such as golf days, dinners and dances.
In mid-November The Falmouth hotel was lucky enough to host the Wooden Spoon, Rugby Legends Dinner. The aim of the game was for the team to ‘scrum’ up and ‘try’ and raise as much money as possible for Cornwall’s disabled and disadvantaged children. The night offered its patrons a fantastic opportunity for them to mix with former and current stars of ruby, such as Phil De Granville, Rob Thirlbly, Lee Mears, Graham Dawe, Chris Morgan, Alan Pavers, Gavin Cattle and George Chuter, plus the chance to win a pair of Premiership match tickets. All this whilst we worked tirelessly to empty their pockets, with a little help from our casino and bar!
We are so pleased to announce that now all the money has been counted the full and final amount raised is a massive £2540. Well done and thank you to all you involved.
