How to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday in Cornwall!

As the Queen gets ready to celebrate her official birthday this weekend, Cornwall is getting ready to honour Her Majesty’s 90 years.

Queen Elizabeth’s milestone birthday takes place on Saturday, June 11 but in Cornwall the celebration of this momentous event will take hold all weekend.

Friday 10th June

  • Circus and street parties in Penzance. St Hilary school will be holding a street party for it’s pupils.
  • St Michael’s Church, Perranuthnoe, will celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday from 7pm with a concert featuring music by Cantiamo, alongside wine and nibbles.

Saturday 11th June

  • Birthday tea party at Coronation Park and Boating Lake in Helston
  • A family community picnic at St John’s in-the-Fields Church, Halsetown, St Ives, from 11am. Bring your own picnic for fun and games.
  • There will be a free children’s teas party, bouncy castle, coconut shy, bbq, beer tent and loads more at Budock Water fun day, 2.30pm to 5.30pm.

Sunday 12th June

  • The Eden Project’s Big Lunch is back with a bang just in time to celebrate the Queen’s 90th
  • Newquay Lions Club are hosting an event on the Killacourt to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. Sun, sea, sand and sovereigns – take part in the 1920s theme, or just wear red white and blue.
